Distributed Monitoring System
A Distributed Monitoring System is a configuration of multiple SensorRopes that are wirelessly linked together. This technology enables very large or long structures such as levees or embankments to be accurately monitored.
Local Monitoring
One SensorRope installed within the earthen structure continuously monitors the local temperature, structural stability, and moisture content.
Widespread Monitoring
Multiple SensorRopes installed along the length of an earthen structure provides a widespread assessment of the structure’s health. The SensorRopes are wirelessly networked together to form an intelligent distributed monitoring system capable of monitoring and predicting the structure’s health and communicating any problems in real-time.
The SensorRopes communicate with each other through the Sensor Heads. The Sensor Heads assess the current health of the structure and make predictions of the structure’s future health status. Should the structural integrity be deemed dangerous, the Sensor Heads will coordinate the information and alert the proper authorities.
See Early Failure Warning System to learn how Condition Engineering can automatically alert of potential in-service structural failure.
